HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 945, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY; DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SUCH TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED TO SAID CITY; AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COhMISSIONERS OF THE CITY • OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory adjacent to the west corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is described as follows: "Beginning at a point where the present city limits intersects the north property line of Buckner Lane; thence in a westerly direction and with the north property line of Buckner Lane to a point where the west property line of Thurman?s Minerva Place Addition would, if extended, intersect the north property line of Buckner Lane; thence with the.west property line of Minerva Place Addition, if extended, in a southerly direction to the south property line of Buckner Lane; thence continuing with the west property line of Minerva Place Addition, in a southerly direction, to a point 75.121 south of the south prop- erty line of Sunset Avenue; thence in an easterly direction and along a line parallel with Sunset Avenue to a point in the west property line of Minerva Place or 43rd street, said point being 751 south of the southwest corner of the intersection of Minerva Place and Sunset Avenue; thence at right angles in a southerly direction and along the west property line of Minerva Place 342; thence at right angles in an easterly direction, 109' from and parallel with Sunset Avenue, to the east property line of Cardinal Lane or 42nd Street; thence in a southerly direction and with the east property line of Cardinal Lane to the line dividing Lots 1 and 2 Block 6 Minerva Place Addition; thence in an easterly direction with the south line of Lot 1 Block 6, a distance of 174.35'; thence at right angles in a southerly direction with the side or west line of Lot 7 Block 6 and the rear or east lines of Lots 2 and 3 Block 6, a distance of 1341, to the south west corner of Lot 7 Block 6; thence in an easterly direction and with the rear or south line of Lots 7 and 8 Block 6, 121.551; thence in a northerly direction and with the side of east line of Lot 8 Block 6, to a point 101.11 from the south property line of Sunset Avenue, said point being in the southwest corner of Lot 23 Block F, Sunset Court Addition; thence in an easterly direction and along the south line of Block F, Sunset Court Addition, a distance of 593.6? to the center line of a 30t road; thence in a southerly direction and with the center line of said road to the present city limits; thence with the present city limits to the point of beginning on Buckner Lane. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in at least ten (10) issues of the Sun democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof as herein proposed, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance. 946 Notice is hereby given of a provision in Section 81.110 of Krntucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30) days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of 1.1cCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why such territory, or any part of it, should not be annexed.
