HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 939, No Ordinance NumberAIT ORDINANCE RELATING TO LICENSE TAXES BY ADDING SECTION 64-B TO Aid ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AAI ORDINANCE FIXIHG AND REGULATING THE LICENSE TAXES, AND MANNER AND FOA+i OF GRANTING AND ISSUING SAME ON TIME VARIOUS LINES OF BUSINESS, TRADES, OCCUPATIONS, PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS AND CALLINGS IN THE CITY Or PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AAID PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR HON-PAYIENT THEREOF, ARID FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND A'iAKING I^1 UNLAWFUL TO ENGAGE IN ANY SUCH LINES OF BUSINESS, TRADES, OCCUPATIONS, PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS AND CALLI14GS WITHOUT FIRST PAYING THE LICENSE TAX ARID PROCURING LICENSES AS PROVIDED HEREIN; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE", ;IHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF C0I'-94ISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 23, 1947 BE I^1 ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CONMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1, That Section 64-B be added to the ordinance having the above quoted title, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 23, 1947, and which Section 64-B shall read as follows: "SECTION 64-B Growers Permit. Any person selling or peddling r- surplus farm or garden produce edible for human consumption which was raised or produced entirely by him shall not be required to pay i any license tax provided for in this ordinance upon securing a C ?Growers Permit? from the City Treasurer. Any person applying for a tGrowers Permit, as provided for herein shall execute an affidavit to the City Treasurer that no purplus produce will be sold by him within the city except that which has been raised or produced by him. A fee of ti¢2.00 shall be charged by the Treasurer to cover the cost of issuing such permit. A growers permit under this Section is not transferrable and is good only for the calendar year in which it is issued; and such permit must be carried by any person selling or peddling produce as defined herein trithin the city limits. Any person securing a 'Growers Permit? as provided for herein and violates its pro- visions and the provisions of this section by selling or peddling any produce not raised or produced by him, shall be subject to applicable licenses and penalties as provided for elsewhere in this ordinance." SECTION 2.
