HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 935, No Resolution Number935 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW STATION WAGON FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON :'IHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and directed to advertise for bids for th ale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) new station wagon for use in the Fire Department, having the following minimum specifications: Six passenger, four door, eight cylinder engine, automatic transmission, approximately fifty amp generator, oil bath cleaner, directional turning signals, sopa light, deluxe heater, five fifteen inch wheels mounted with five 4 -ply first line tires and tubes, factory paint fire engine red. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept for the purchase price of the station wagon he offers forsale, less the amount he will allow on the purchase price as a trade-in value of one (1) 1948 Chevrolet panel truck, serial No. 9FJ-F7058 now being used by the Fire Department of the City. Each bidder, if requested, must demonstrate similar wagon as that upon which he is bidding. Each bidder is to state in his bid the complete specifications of the Station Flagon and the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for three consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City A4anager up to the time fixed in the notice .for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commiss- ioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said station wagon until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
