HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 919, No Resolution Number919 A RESOLUTION DIRECTING AND ORDERING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY TO STRICTLY ENFORCE AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DEPOSITING OR SWEEPING OF VARIOUS KINDS OF TRASH AND RUBBISH ON TIE SIDEWALKS, STREETS, ALLEYS, PUBLIC THOROUGHFARES AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES IPI THE CITY OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, under an existing ordinance heretofore adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, it is unlawful for any person to do the following things: 1. Depositing rubbish, filthy or any foul, offensive, nauseous or injurious substance upon the sidewalks, streets, alleys, public thorough- fares or any other public places. 2. Sweeping or depositing any paper, trash or rubbish into any drain or gutter. 3. Sweeping or depositing any trash, paper or rubbish into any street, sidewalk, alley, public thoroughfare or other public place. AND WHEREAS, violations of said provisions of said ordinance are detrimental to the health and welfare of the residents of the City and also cause an unsightly condition, and WHEREAS, it appears said provisions of said ordinance are being violated numerous times in various portions of the City, and WHEREAS, said ordinance provides that any person violating said sections shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not more than One Hundred Dollars. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIE BOARD OF CONIIdISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager and Police Department of the Ciy are hereby directed and ordered to strictly enforce, to the best of their ability, the provisions of the aforesaid ordinance and that all violators be prosecuted to the fullest extent. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Passed by the Board of Commissioners June 14, 1958 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, June 14, 1958.
