AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO EXECUTE A LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE
ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD COI.1PANY FOR A PORTION OF GROUND
OCCUPIED AND USED BY THE CITY AS A PART OF BARKLEY PARK
WHEREAS, Barkley Park in the City of Paducah, Kentucky
adjoins certain property of the Illinois Central Railroad
Company, and
WHEREAS, it appears that a certain portion of said park
as.now used constitutes an encroachment upon the property of
the Illinois Central Railroad Company; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Central Railroad Company is
trilling to lease such portion to the City for five:(5) years
for a -rental of ;}1.00 per year, payment acknowledged.
NO1.1 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIF •ZSSIONERS
OF Thr, CITY OF PADUCAH, PEHTUCKY°
SECTION 1. That the I-'ayor of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf
of the City a lease from Illinois Central Railroad Company,
whereby said Company agrees to lease to the City for a five (5)
year period, beginning !•larch 18, 1954, certain of its property
now being used by the City as a part of Barkley Park; said lease
to provide for a rental charge of ;x1.00 per year, payment of
which to be acknowledged by the Illinois Central Railroad Company.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
