HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 837, No Resolution Number837 / A RESOLUTIOi'I REQUESTIHG THE CITY P'JAPIAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW CRA�'TLER TRACTOR AND PRESCRI_I''Q THE CONDITIONS UPON i°THICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COII;ISSIONERS OF TIME CITY OF PADUCAH, I,LI;TUCKY: SECTIO:? 1. That the City i;anager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new tractor with the following specifications: - Si;; roller crawler tractor of current manufacture; single diesel engine, four (4) cylinder, four (4) cycle, minimum of 75 H.P.; electric gasoline 12 vote starting system, including starting motor; heavy duty generator and batteries; hydraulic power booster steering clutches; crank case guard, hour meter, precleaner fuel strainer, two (2) headlights and one (1) rear light; enclosed cab with safety glass, heater and windshield wiper; large diameter front idler cutaway sprockets; 18" clip corner track shoes Leith approximately 2-3/4" diameter clean out holes in each pad; self energizing full -wrapping type steering brakes; parts manual and operating manual to be delivered with equipment; color to be specified. The tractor is to be equipped with one of the following pieces of equipment: (1) Dozer blade iiith approximate size of 40" x approximately 124. (2) With loader bucket approximately 22 cu. yd. capacity. (3) ':lith combination dozer blade approximately 40" x approx- imately 124 and loader clam approximately 2z cu, yd. capacity, and each bidder shall describe fully each or all of the aforesaid in his bid or bids. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the tractor and equipment he offers for sale and also the amount of such purchase price as a credit by accepting as trade=in one (1) 1952 TD-1CFA International Crawler Tractor equipped with 24 cu. yd. Drott Bullclam. Upon request of the City Manager, the successful bidder shall demonstrate locally the exact equipment bid upon by him. SECTIO;! 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shqll be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. I.o bid shall 83 ��v be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in tho notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City iianager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be _Wiled with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said, crawler tractor until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
