HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 835, No Resolution Number05 A RESOLU11014 REQUESTING TIC, CITY L1ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NE:J MOTOR GRADER, Ar1D PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON !JHIc!1 SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE I':ADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C011IISSIOt]ERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IMPTUCEY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new I=rotor Grader with the following specifications: - Tandem Drive of current manufacture, diesel engine with minimum of 120 H. P.; torque converter with the transmission; hydraulic potter shift (shifts under full load while moving forward or reverse); combination manual and power steering with hydraulic booster; leaving front wheels; hydraulic shiftable moldboard; all controls hydraulic operated by hand levers in cab; deluxe enclosed cab approximately 61 x 54" with safety glass, heater, and windshield wiper; scarifier V -type with a minimum of eleven (11) teeth, approximate 45" swath, teeth type replacable points; hydraulic brakes, also emergency or parking brakes; electric starter, hour meter, generator and muffler; front and rear tires 1300 x 24 12 -ply 100 level first line, lots pressure tires and tubes; adjustable light on each side of cab front; parts manual and operating manual to be delivered with equipment; colors to be specified. Each bidder is to state the amount he trill accept in cash for the purchase price of the motor grader he offers for sale, and also the amount of the purchase price as a credit by accepting as trade-in one (1) Caterpillar 1-otor Patrol Grader T'-'12. The successful bidder, at the request of the City i•_anager, shall make a local demonstration of the exact equipment bid upon by him. SECTION 2. The City I•anager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least oen issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Co"IMissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids 836 bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said motor grader until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3.
