HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 819, No Ordinance Number819 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE OPERATION OF A MUNICIPAL COLLEGE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMdISSIONERS ON NOVEMBER 6, 1939 AND AMENDED ON APRIL 5, 1949, MAY 10, 1955 AND APRIL 10, 1956 1'MREAS, by Articles of Incorporation of the Paducah Junior College the number of trustees of same has been fixed at not less than nine (9) nor more than fifteen (15); such trustees to be named and elected by the legislative body of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and By an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky on November 6, 1939, and amended on April 5, 1949, May 10, 1955 and April 10, 1956, the number of such trustees has been fixed at nine (9), and e1HEREAS, it is decided that the number of such trustees be increased from nine (9) to fifteen (15). N0J, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on November 6, 1939 and amended on April 5, 191x•9, May 10, 1955 and April 10, 1956 be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. That effective as of January 6, 1958, Howard Z. Gray, John W. Polk, Jr., L..D. Stacey, Ed Trevathan, Ryan Hugg and Jilliam A. Feiler be appointed as additional members of the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Junior College, so that said Board of Trustees as of said date shall be composed of John G. Russell, Brady M. Stewart, T. S. ?'faller, W. A. Conway, Luther Carson, Dr. Leon Higdon, Schultz Riggs, Roy Vance, Aiarshall E. Nemer, Howard Z. Gray, John W. Polk, Jr., L. D. Stacey, Ed Trevathan, Ryan Hugg and William A. Feiler. Said Board of Trustees shall control the municipal college in the City of Paducah which has been established pursuant to the provisions of hits 165.160 to 165.200, and are to have all of -the potters given to them pursuant to the provisions of said statutes." SECTION 2.
