HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 791, No Ordinance NumberOAENDED 791 AN ORDINANCE APENDING SECTION 8-D OF THE APPOINTIVE EP,IPLOYEES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF C0I,1I4ISSIONERS Oki DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND AMENDED ON MARCH 16, 1957 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 8-D of the Appointive Employees' Civil Service Ordinance, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947 and amended on March 16, 1957 be, and the same is hereby, amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTIOII 8-D, Sub -Section 1. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Floodwall Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salaryAo- '2 _�9 �/ is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, A, AiIla,,� /�� shall be as follows: Position Number Position Monthly S. 1. Floodwall Superintendent (Head of Dept.) 5?435.00 (Retroactive to August 1, 1957) 2. Floodwall Foreman 315.00 3. Floodwall baintenance hien (3 positions) 260.00 (formerly maintenance operators) The Floodwall Superintendent shall be paid at the rate of ?435.00 per month for the first six month period after the adoption of this ordinance; at the expiration of six months ?455.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months ?475.00 per month. Such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The floodwall Foreman shall be paid at the rate of <; 15.00 per month for the first six month period after the adoption of this ordinance and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, at the expiration of such six month period, such salary shall be v"325.00 per month. The Floodwall Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of ?260.00 per month for the first :six month period after the adoption of this ordinance; at the expiration of six months ,?270.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months, ;?280.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 792 Sub -Section 2. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Sewerage D isposal Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Number Position 1. Chief Operator (Retroactive to August 1, 1957) 2. Maintenance i•ian (Retroactive to August 1, 1957) 3. Operators (3 positions) Idonthly Salary ,x315.00 300.00 260.00 The Chief Operator shall be paid at the rate of ?315.00 per month for the first six month period after the adoption of this ordinance, and at the expiration of such period, upon recommendation of the City 1 -Tanager, the salary shall be raised to ?325.00 per month. The ilaintenance I,_an shall be paid at the rate of 000.00 per month for the first six month period after the adoption of this ordinance, and at the expiration of such period, upon recommendation of the City I-Fanager, the salary shall be raised to 310.00 per month. The Operators shall be paid at the rate of ,;?260.00 per month for the first six month period after the adoption of this ordinance; at the expiration of six months, 270.00 per month; and at the ex- piration of another six months, •,x280.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City I.anager. The Sewerage Disposal Department shall be under the management and control of the Floodaall Superintendent, and the employees of the Floodwall Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Sewerage Disposal Department, and the employees of the Sewerage Disposal Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Floodwall Department, but any of such employees so assigned shall keep and maintain their civil service rights under the department to which they were originally assigned.,, SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTIOIT 3.
