HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 774, No Ordinance Number774 J . j AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF AN ALLEY RUNNING FROPI 8TH STREET TO 9TH STREET BETWEEN CALDVIELL STREET AND HUSBANDS STREET IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZI14G THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE SUIT IN MC CRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID ALLEY LEGALLY CLOSED WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the City of Paducah, Kentucky has acquired and purchased the entire square block of land in Paducah, Kentucky bounded on the north by Caldwell Street, on the south by Husbands Street, on the east by 8th Street and on the west by 9th Street, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of such land was for the purpose of building a public school building, and IHEREAS, before said school building can be constructed it will be necessary to have the hereinafter referred to alley legally closed, and WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the City of Paducah has requested that such alley be closed. NO -V THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0M11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky does hereby authorize the closing of the alley running from the west side of 8th Street to the east side of 9th Street and situated between Caldwell Street and Husbands Street. SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute a suit in IdcCracken Circuit Court for a decree ordering the closing of the above set out alley pursuant to the provisions of KRS 94.360. SECTION 3.
