HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 768, No Resolution Number76� A RESOLUTION REVESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE ONE-HALF TON PICK-UP TRUCK, AMID PRESCRIBING THE TERI•IS AND CONDITIONS UPON 11HICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C0131I SSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. .That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) neer one-half ton pick-up truck. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept for the purchase of said truck, and shall submit with his bid full specifications of the truck or trucks bid on, together with information as to any guarantee and as to the time required for delivery. The truck shall be painted orange and black according to specifications to be furnished by the Department of Public Works. SECTION 2. The City I•Ianager shall advertise for the aforesaid bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids, and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the adoption of this resolution. No bid shall be received unless it is under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice For the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners i•rho may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said truck until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be"in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
