R&IUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1957 DELUGE FIVE -PASSENGER, FOUR -DOOR, AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPART1.04T, AND PRE- SCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON MiICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE 14ADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI,11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTIONI 1. That the City Eanager be, and he is hereby, authorized to -advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new 1957 Deluxe five -passenger, four -door automobile, black color, having an eight cylinder engine, to be used in the police department of the City of Paducah. Said automobile to be equipped with 105 Amp. Alternator, installation of which is to be supervised by the City, deluxe heater, oil bath, air cleaner purilator, directional signals, spot light, standard first-line 4 -ply tires with tubes, spare wheel and tire and automatic transmission. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount of the purchase price for same by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1952 black Chevrolet Sedan, 1-Lodel K J, Motor Number KAA325503. SECTION 2. The City I.lanager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) dads from the date on which this resolution is adopted. Ho bid shall be received unless under seal, not shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said automobile until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTIO -14 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
