HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 69, No Ordinance Number69✓ AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPAMMINT OF THE CITY: OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY TO CHARGE AND COLLECT CERTAIN FEES FOR PREPARING AND FURNISIiING PHOTO -COPIES OF MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT REPORTS, AND FOR THE SUPPLYING OF CERTAIN FOIUAS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COP11iISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; SECTION 1. The Police Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky is hereby authorized to charge and collect for the following services the following fees: (a) For preparing and furnishing, upon request therefor, a photo- copy of a motor vehicle accident report on record in the offices of the Police Department, the sum of Fifty cents (500). Nothing contained in the precedins sentence shall be construed as preventing any person, firm or corporation from preparing or making his or its own copy of any such accident report upon such terms and conditions as may be reached by the Police Department. (b) For each blank motor vehicle accident report form similar or identical to that in current use by the Police Department, supplied to any person, firm or corporation upon request therefor, the sum of five cents (05¢); Provided, however, that such forms may be sold by the Police Department in packages or pads of one hundred forms each for one dollar (Ts1.00) for each such package or pad. (c) For preparing and furnishing to any person, firm or corporation, upon request therefor, a summary of the record of violations by any person of statutes and ordinances governing the operation of a motor vehicle (couunonly referred to as malting a traffic record check) as contained in records of the Police Department, the sum of fifty cents (50¢). (d) For preparing and Furnishing to any person, firm or corporation, upon request therefor, a summary of the criminal record of any person (commonly referred to as making a criminal record check) as contained in the records of the Police Department the sum of fifty cents (50¢). The aforementioned fees shall not be collected for any such services rendered for or upon request of the United States of America, or any state, city, county or other -governmental body, or for or upon .request of any department, bureau, division, agency, representative or other component part of the United States of America or of any state, city, county or other governmental body. The fee provided for in subsection (c) of this Section shall not be charged or collected for any traffic record check made for or upon request of any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of providing public or mass transportation where the person, firm or corporation requesting such traffic 70 M record check submits evidence satisfactory to the Police Department that the purpose of seeking the information to be gained from such traffic record check is to ascertain the fitness of any employee or proposed employee of such person, firm or corporation to operate a motor vehicle designed for and used as a mode of public or lass transportation. As used in this paragraph the words public or mass transportation shall mean, by was of illustration, transporting persons or property by taxicab, bus or motor truck; Provided, however, that this definition shall not be deemed to exclude any similar means of transportation. SECTION 2. All monies received by the Police Department under the provisions of Section 1 of this ordinance shall be paid into and become a part of the General Fund of the City of Paducah. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. ql)).
