HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 689, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED'.- "AN NTITLED:;"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF THE POLICE DEPARTP1ENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON AUGUST 5, 1952, AND AMENDED ON FEBRUARY 2, 1954 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COi51ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952, and amended on February 2, 1954, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. The number and rank of members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, pro- vided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance adopted hereafter, shall be as follows: Position Number of Positions I,ionthly Salary Chief of Police 1 '415.00 Assistant Chief of Police 1 340.00 Chief Detective 1 325.00 Director of Traffic 1 325.00 Police Captain 4 315.00 Detective Lieutenant 1 300.00 Police Lieutenant 6 300.00 Sergeant 5 287.00 Sergeant Detective 2 287.00 Policemen 40 280.00 Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed, during his first year of service shall receive a salary of ;?260.00 per month and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to ;x270.00 for the second year of service, and upon completion of a second year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to the sum of ;'2$0.0011. SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. a SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, and the salary increases shall be retroactive and effective beginning January 1, 1957.
