HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 688, No Ordinance Number66W AMENDED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND DEFINING A SANITARY DIVISIO14 FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH; CREATING POSITIONS AND SALARIES FOR EMPLOYEES IN SAID DIVISION; PROVIDING SAID POSITIONS SHALL NOT BE UNDER CIVIL SERVICrE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 23, 1952 AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1953 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on December 23, 1952, and amended on September 15, 1953, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 2. That in order to perform the duties of refuse collection and disposal as defined in the "Refuse Collection and Disposal Ordinance" there is hereby created the following number of positions of employment at the rate of pay specified: Number of Positions Position Designation Rate of Pay. 10 Truck Drivers 0`1.2$ Per Hour 22 Collectors.• 1.222 The hourly wages herein provided are for a regular work week of 44 hours and wages shall be paid on a straight time basis up to including said 44 hours. The salaries of persons appointed to said positions shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other city employees are paid. Provided however, truck drivers shall be paid at the rate of I ?1.2$ per hour for the first six months of their employment and 91.37 per hour thereafter. Laborers shall be paid at the rate of ?1.222 per hour for the first 6 months and :,?1.30 per hour thereafter. The increases in pay to become effective on the first or the sixteenth day of the month nearest thb date on which said person has been employed for a period of six months." SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
