AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AP! ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"API ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREVIITII",
WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1951,
AND AIENDED ON APRIL 10, 1956
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C01,11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December 11, 1951, and amended on
April 10, 1956, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so
that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION? 1. The number and rank of the members of the Fire
Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided
said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance
hereafter adopted shall be as follows:

Provided, however, that any fireman hereafter appointed, during
his first year of service shall receive a salary of 4260.00 per month
and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City I4anager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to ti?270.00 for the second year of service, and
upon completion of the second year of satisfactory service as determined
by the City Manager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to the sum of
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption, and the salary increases shall be
retreactive and effective beginning Janua y 11 1957.
