AN ORDINANCE CLOSING SOUTH 15TH STREET BETWEEN BROAD-
WAY AND KENTUCKY AVENUE, AND CLOSING THREE PUBLIC ALLEYS EAST
OF SOUTH 15TH STREET WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY BROADWAY, SOUTH
15TH STREET, KENTUCKY AVENUE AND THE NEW PUBLIC ALLEY THIS DAY
OPENED WHICH EXTENDS AT RIGHT ANGLES FROM BROADWAY TO KENTUCKY
AVENUE FROM A POINT IN THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF BROADWAY WHICH
LIES 6$2.6 FEET EAST OF THE SOUTHEASTERLY CORNER OF BROADWAY
AND SOUTH 16TH STREET
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMUSSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
Section 1: That the City of Paducah does hereby close
the portion of that certain street known as South 15th Street
which is described in Subsection a, below, and the three public
alleys described in subsections b, c and d below which are lo-
cated within the area bounded by Broadway on the north, the
said South 15th Street on the west, Kentucky Avenue on the south
and on the east by a certain new public alley this day opened
to public use.
Subsection a: That portion of South 15th Street
which is hereby closed is more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the southerly
line of Broadway 3$$.10 feet east of the
southeasterly corner of the intersection
of 16th Street and Broadway; thence toward
Kentucky Avenue at an angle of 91 degrees,
36 minutes, 30 seconds (said angle being the
interior angle between the segment of Broad-
way to which the point of beginning is re-
ferred, and the westerly property line of
South 15th Street) a distance of 350.14 feet
to the northerly property line of Kentucky
Avenue; thence to the left at an angle of 91
degrees, 36 minutes, 30 seconds a distance
of 22.5 feet to a corner in the northerly
property line of Kentucky Avenue; thence
with aninterior angle of $$ degrees, 23
minutes, 30 seconds a distance of 350.14
feet to the southerly property line of Broad-
way; thence to the left at an angle of 91
degrees, 36 minutes, 30 seconds a distance
of 22.5 feet to the point of beginning.
Sub -section b: The first of said three public alleys
which are hereby closed is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the easterly boundary
of South 15th Street 86.4 feet north of the
most northerly property line of Kentucky Ave-
nue as extended eastwardly from 16th Street;
thence in an easterly direction parallel to
Kentucky Avenue with the property lines of
lots conveyed to Emory Williams by E. W. Osburn,
R. R. Beaton and wife, and Julia E. Darrell, a
distance of 112 feet to the westerly property
line of a lot conveyed to Emory Williams by
C. W. Struwe and wife; thhnce toward Broad-
way and parallel to South 15th Street with the
line of said Struwe lot a distance of 30 feet
to a southeasterly corner of another lot con-

veyed to Emory Williams by R. R. Beaton and
wife; thence in a westerly direction parallel
to Kentucky Avenue with the line of the said
Beaton lot a distance of 25 feet; thence in
a southerly direction with said Beaton lot
parallel to South 15th Street a distance of
14 feet; thence in a westerly direction with
the line of the said Beaton Lot parallel to
Kentucky Avenue a distance of $7 feet to the
said South 15th Street; thence with the easter-
ly property line of the said South 15th Street
toward Kentucky Avenue a distance of 16 feet
to the point of beginning.
Beginning at a point in the easterly pro-
perty line of the said South 15th Street
165 feet, more or less, south of the south-
easterly corner of the intersection of
Broadway and South 15th Street; thence
in an easterly direction approximately
parallel to Broadway with the irregulari-
ties of thio southerly property lines of
lots fronting on Broadway conveyed to the
said tmory Williams by deeds from .
Anne Washington Leslie, H. T. Moore
and wife, Morris McBride and W. E.
Sloan and their respective wives,
Minnie D. H. Grief, a widow, and
Clayton Krug and wife, a distance
of 257 feet, more or less, to the
westerly line of a new 25 foot public
alley this day opened by ordinance
enacted by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah; thence at
right angles in a southerly direction
with the westerly line of said new
public alley a distance of 21 feet,
more or less; thence at right angles
in a westerly direction with the irreg-
ularities of the northerly property
lines of lots fronting on Kentucky
Avenue and South 15th Street hereto-
fore conveyed to the said Emory Wil-
liams by deeds from Minnie D. H.
Grief, a widow, Doreathie Brown, a
widow, C. W. Strurie and wife, and
R. R. Beaton and wife, a distance of
257 feet, more or less, to the west-
erly property line of South 15th
Street; thence in a northerly di-
rection with the westerly property
line of the said South 15th Street
a distance of 21 feet, more or less,
to the point of beginning.
Being an alley having a width of
approximately 8 feet, the approxi-
mate center line of which extends
at right angles to and in a north-
erly direction from Kentucky Ave-
nue, from a point in the northerly
property line of Kentucky Avenue
which lies 207.5 feet east of the
northeast corner of the intersection
of Kentucky Avenue and l$th Street,
for a distance of 170 feet, more or
less, to the southerly property line
of the alley described in Subsection
C. above.

action in the McCracken Circuit Court and obtain a judgment
under the provisions of KRS 94.360 which shall complete the
closure of South 15th Street and the three alleys described
above, and declare the same to be legally closed.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
