HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 614, No Ordinance Number614 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-B OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES, CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE" „ WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSION- ERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 and AMENDED ON JUNE 12, 1956 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 8-B of the "Appointive Employees, Civil Service Ordinance" which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947 and amended on June 12, 1956, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 8-B. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Public Works Department, heretofore known as the Street Department, and the salaries of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Number Position Salary Per Month 1. This department shall be under the direction and supervision of the Director of Public Works, a non -civil service position which has heretofore been created by separate ordinance and which is not included in this ordinance. 2. Chief Foreman of Streets & Sewers (formerly Assistant Superintendent of streets and sewers) $325.00 3. Foreman (2 positions) 300.00 4. Clerk -typist 180.00 The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of $180.00 per month for the first six months; at the expiration of six months :190.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $200.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $210.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Hourly Rate 5. Sewer Maintenance men (6 positions) $1.50 6. Equipment Operator (5 positions) 1.57 7. Street Repairmen (7 positions) 1.38 8. Truck Driver (8 positions) 1.32 9. Laborer (7 positions) 1,�5 Laborers shall be paid at the rate of $1.17 per hour for the first six months of their employment and $1.25 per hour thereafter. 10. Chief Mechanic 1.70 11. Auto Repairman (2 positions) 1.57 12. Mechanic Helper (2 positions) 1.44 615 Refuse (Sanitary) Division 13. This division shall be under the direction and supervision of the Chief Foreman of the Refuse Division, a non -civil service position which has heretofore been created by separate ordinance and which is not included in this ordinance. 14. Foreman (Position eliminated) 15. Equipment Operator $1.57" SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
