HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 613, No Resolution Number613 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR 1000 FEET OF 12 INCH FIRE HOSE FOR USE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of 1000 feet of lZ inch hose to be used by the fire department of the City of Paducah. The hose is to be in 50 foot lengths, double jacket coupled with brass rocker lug couplings with National Standard threads, and shall be equal in quality to the Bilateral Maderite and Goodrich Super Control hose. Each bidder shall submit a sample of the hose bid upon by him and each bid shall be accompanied by complete detailed specifications. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting anotice at the City Hall Door and by inserting notice for the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City of Paducah shall not be legally obligated to purchase said fire hose until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Passed by the Board of Commissioners October 30, 1956 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, October 30, 1956.
