HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 559, No Resolution Number559 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY I•IAI:AGER TO AUTHORIZE FOR BiDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 13 -CUBIC YARD REFUSE COLLECTION UNIT WITH CAB AND CHASSIS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERES AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCP>Y: SECTION 1. That the City Tanager be, and he is hereby, authorized and requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) 13 -cubic yard refuse collection unit with cab and chassis having the followi.nZ approximate specifications: mechanically operated; side loading (either side) or rear loading; loading height approximately 47 inches; split type top doors; forward loading doors 38 inches wide; packing pressure 50,000 pounds. Dorking Parts: Heavy duty power take -off; drive line - 2 Universal Joints, self - aligning bearings and heavy duty pourer take -off drive Clain; H.C.F. 12.2 fluid couplings; heavy duty 40,000 pound gear reducer; one drive and one idler sprocket; packer plate; rear door equipped with water -tight rubber seal. Specifications of Cab and Chassis: Nominal Rating of two (2) tons; manufacturers G.M. 18,000 pounds; approximately 172" wheel base with cab to axle dimension of 102" or more; 15,000 pounds rated single speed rear axle; motor approximately 155 gross horsepower rating, equipped with directional lights, duel windshield wipers, side vier; mirrors, (one each side) heater and defroster; 825 x 20 - 10 ply first line-, 100 level front tires and tubes; 900 x 20 - 10 ply first line 100 level rear ruel tires and tubes with spare mounted; front and tort hooks. Each bidder shall state the earliest reliable delivery date and nature of the guarantee on said equipment. SECTION 2. The City Tanager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice of the request at the City Hall door and by insert- ing notice in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened withih ten (10) . days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Tanager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligatwd to turchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the contract. 560 SjCTIGP;_2.
