HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 556, No Ordinance Number556 j AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE'SOUTHLAND COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PIC -2, MC -3, RC -2 AND RC -3 LIQUID ASPHALT REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH DURING 1956; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AID EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID IdATERIAL; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER 11MICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the bid of The Southland Company for the sale to the City of Paducah of all I -11C-2, I.IC-3, RC -2 and RC -3 Liquid Asphalt required by the City of Paducah during the year 1956 be accepted, and the City r'anager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of said City, of all such asphalt to be used during 1956, said contract to contain the following terms, conditions and covenants: Orders are to be placed by the City by collect telephone call and delivery to be made within three to four days after order; the delivered price for the asphalt shall be in the sum of ;110.1160 per gallon f.o.b. 6th & Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky and to bu delivered in 6000 or 10,000 gallon insulated tank cars, equipped with fittings and steam coils for heating, and all asphalt must meet Kentucky State Highway Specifications.' The Southland Company is to be required to furnish and install a 10,000 or 12,000 _rallon (or larger) storage tank equipped with fittings and steam coils for heating 14C or RC liquid asphalt. A guarantee shall be provided against advance in market price and a guarantee shall be provided for reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price, and The Southland Company shall post a performance bond in the sum of ,12,500.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, but it being necessary for the public health and safety of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that said material be available as soon as possible for street repair work, an emergency is hereby -declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and affter from and after its adoption.
