HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 555, No Ordinance Number555 y AN ORDINAI4CE ACCEPTING TILE BID OF ERULSIFIED ASPHALT COIJPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF TYPE RS, TJS AND SS EA4ULSIFIED ASPHALT REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH DURING THE YEAR 1956, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY IJAt1TAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EUCUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID KATERIAL, AND PRESCRIBING THE TER1-1S AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE 1-HADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0I.11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTICIII._ That the bid of Emulsified Asphalt Company for sale to the City of Paducah of types RS, I -IS and SS emulsified asphalt required by the city during the year 1956 be accepted, and the City I•anager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of the City, all of such asphalt to be used during the year 1956, said contract to contain the following terms, conditions and covenants: Orders are to be placed by collect telephone call to the Seller and delivery to be made by transport truck within tvienty-four hours after order. All asphalt must meet Kentucky State Highway specifications. The Seller shall furnish and install a 10,000 gallon storage tank at 6th Fc Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky where delivery is to be made at 12.40 cents per gallon. A guarantee shall be provided against advance in themarket price and a guarantee shall be provided for reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the, market price, and the Seller shall post a performance bond in the amount of 5'2,500.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, but it being necessary for the public health and safety of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that said material be available as soon as possible for street repair work, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. �E_ �iyor Introduced by the Board of Commissioners Ray 22, 1956 Passed by the Board of Commissioners June 12, 1956 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, June 12, 1956
