HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 527, No Resolution Number527 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO POLICE -MOBILE TRANSMITTER -RECEIVERS FOR USE BY THE CITY AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City ha.nager be, and he is hereby, authorized and requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) police - mobile transmitter -receivers complete; each to transmit and receive on 155.13 megacycles. Transmitters must meet Federal Communications Commission Rules and Regulations for operating on Type 40 F 3 emission upon such frequency and must be capable of delivering a minimum of 10 watts R F power to the antenna. Each receiver shall require no more than .8 microvolts of carrier signal to produce 20 decibels noise quieting and the selectivity of each shall be such that at a variation of 60 kilocycles from the carrier grequency the response will be down at least 100 decibels. Each unit shall be complete and shall be so constructed as will be readily interchangable from 6 volt D C operation to 12 volt D C operation, and shall be trunk mounting type. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The; notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. SECTION 3.
