HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 522, No Ordinance Number522 V � AN ORDINANCE REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ESTABLISH PARKING ZONES FOR TA%I CABS; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROXI- MATE LOCATION OF SUCH ZONES AND REGULATING THE USE OF SAME WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky that the establishing of parking zones for the exclusive use of taxicabs will be beneficial to the citizens of Paducah and the public at large, and will render a needed public service. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Chief of Police be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to establish zones for the exclusive use of taxi cabs at the following locations; Western Baptist Hospital Riverside Hospital Greyhound Bus Station Fourth & Broadway Palmer Hotel Cobb Hotel A & P Grocery, near 9th & Broadway Kroger Grocery, near 8th & Broadway Wonder Market, near 10th & Broadway Voorts Nite Club, 12th & Clay Stacey's Drive-in, 13th & Broadway Each zone so established and laid off by the Chief of Police shall be of sufficient length for the parking of two (2) taxi cabs at the same time, and each shall be marked showing such zone is to be used only by taxi cabs. SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to park, or cause to be parked, a vehicle other than a taxi cab in any of the taxi cab zones provided for in Section 1 hereof.. SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of Section 2 hereof shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than Two Dollars ($2.00) nor more than ten dollars ($10.00) for each offense. SECTION 4_ All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
