A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THEASSISTANCE OF THE DEPARTMENT
OF REVENUE OF.THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY IN SECURING A RE-
APPRAISAL OF REAL ESTATE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky at its 1956 regular session enacted an Act authorizing
the Department of Revenue of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to
provide certain assistance to the City Assessor in making a re-
appraisal of the property in the city upon petition of the
legislative body of the City, and
LQHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Paducah, Kentucky that the real estate situated therein
is not equitably assessed, and that a competent reappraisal of
all real estate in the city would be beneficial to the owners of
such property and to the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Department of Revenue of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky is hereby requested and petitioned to provide personnel
and other assistance to aid the City Assessor of Paducah, Kentucky
in making a reappraisal of the real estate situated therein. This
request is made pursuant to an Act enacted by the General Assembly
of the Commonwealth of Kentucky at its 1956 regular session.
SECTION 2. The request set out in Section 1 hereof is not
to be binding either upon the Department of Revenue or the City of
Paducah and neither shall be obligated until as and when a contract
is executed by both.
SECTION 3_ The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the Department of Revenue
of the Commonwealth of Kentucky at Frankfort, Kentucky.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
