HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 489, No Ordinance Number4&9 AN ORDINANCE APIENDING SECTION 2 OF All ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING TIIE BUILDING CODE RECOiu ENDED BY THE IIATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS, EXCEPT CERTAIN CLAUSES AND SECTIONS THEREOF WHICH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY ELII-aNATED, AND ALSO ADOPTING THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY APPROVED BY THE DIVISION OF INSURANCE FIRE PREVENTION AND RATES SECTION OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTI�MT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR TO ADh7NISTER AND ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THE BUILDING CODE AND THE STANDARDH OF SAFETY; FIXING THE FEES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR BUILDING AND WRECKING PFA ITS; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING TIE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUILDING INSPECTOR, HIS COI.IPEPISATION, POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMaSSIONERS OIL SEPTEMBER 24, 1946 AND AIvENDED ON JUNE 30, 1948 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COInrISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 24, 1946 and amended on June 30, 1948, be repealed, amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 2. In order to further effectively put into operation said building code mentioned and described in Section 1 hereof, the Standards of Safety adopted and approved by the Department of Insurance, Division of Fire Prevention and Protection of the Commonwealth o:e Kentucky in 1955•, pursuant to KMS 227.300, together with any and all amendments or revisions of said Standards of Safety as the same may be adopted and published, are hereby'adopted and the provisions thereof are hereby carried into full force and effect as fully and to the same extent as if cited and copied in detail in this ordinance, and a copy of said 1955 Standards of Safety is hereby filed with and made a part hereof, said copy to be treated as a part of this ordinance to the same extent as if fully copied herein and spread at large upon the ordinance Book of the City of Paducah, Kentucky." SECTIOP? 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. WIN SF,CTIOD 3.
