WATKINS CMuANY FOR THE REMOVAL OF CROSS CREEK BRIDGE ANJD THE STEEL COLUMNS SUPPORTING SAME AND THE SALE OF THE MATERIAL SALVAGED THEREFROM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY; MANAGER TO CONTRACT FOR SUCH SERVICES AND SALE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION I. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky accept the bid of Grover C. Watkins Company for the removal of the Cross Creek Bridge and the steel columns supporting same in the sum of $2,984.00, less the sum of $766.00 which said Company has offered to pay to the City for the material salvaged .from said bridge, making the net cost to the City in the sum of $2,218.00. The steel columns shall be cut off at the ground level or pier level whichever is higher, and the bridge and columns shall be moved completely from the site within sixty (60) days'(or within any lesser time that might be agreed to by the bidder) after the contract for such services is executed. The Company shall execute a performance bond in an amount not less than $2,984.00, and in addition shall keep in full force and effect liability insurance to protect the City of Paducah from claims of any person or persons in the following amounts: $10,000 for personal injury or death to any one person $20,000 for personal injury or death to more than one person resulting from the same accident, and $ 5,000 damabe to property in any one accident, including property owned by the City. The Company is not to remove the water and gas mains nor is it to receive any material salvaged therefrom. SECTION 2, That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into a contract for the removal of said bridge and sale of the salvaged material as set out in Section 1 hereof: SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of COmmi.ssioners.of the City of Paducah, Kentucky and remain o file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, but it being necessary for the public health and safety of the City of Paducah that such work be done as soon as possible, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordi nance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. �' Mayor Introduced by the Board of Commissioners September 13, 955 Passed by the Board of Commissioners September 20, 1955 Recorded by Sarah Thurman Cit Cl Y erk, September 20, 1955. +I I
