That the City T-=ana�er be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to employ tyro (2) extra _firemen to serve in the fire department of the city during the absence or disabilit-, of the re_ alar firemen. The extra firemen so employed shall possess the sane qualifications as reailar merifoers of the _'ire department and shall be paid a salary for each day of work at the same rate as the lowest membersof the fire department receive. SECTIOii 2. Each person so employed as an extr1, fireman shall receive the same trainin- as is riven regular firemen, and during a period of 90 days after appointment shall be subject to removal without cause by the City T-LxnaSer. After 90 days from the appoint- jaent of an e._tra firemen he shall be entitled to all the civil service rights and privileges held by regular members of the fire department, includin,; seniority rights. In the event of a vacancy in the :tire department, the extra fireman highest in seniority rights shall be entitled to be employed on a -regular basis as a member of the lowest grade of -regular firemen. SECTZOI: 3.
