HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 330, No Resolution Number330 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO NEW FIVE -PASSENGER, FOUR -DOOR, AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the city of Paducah of two new five - passenger, four -door, automobiles, black color, having a minimum horsepower rating of 100, to be used in the Police Department of the City of Paducah. Said automobiles to be equipped with heavy duty springs, clutch, 65 A1,1P purilator, directional signals, spot light, tubeless tires and seat covers. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the pur- chase price of the automobiles he offers for sale and also the amount he will allow on the purchase price as a trade-in value on one 1953 Chevrolet sedan, motor number LAA532347, model number 1503, known as Car No. 7, and one 1953 Plymouth sedan, motor number P24-485739, model number P24-1, known as Car No. 3. Each bidder is to state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and. by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Beard of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest 1 responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said automobi until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
