WORKS AND CHIEF FOREMAN OF THE REFUSE DIVISION, PRESCRIBING THE
Fes, DUTIES OF SAID POSITIONS AND THE SALARIES THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF

PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created the positions in the City of
Paducah to be known as the "Director of Public Works" and "Chief
Foreman of the Refuse Division".
The position of "Director of Public Works" shall be under the
direction and supervision of the City Manager and the City Manager
is hereby authorized to employ a suitable and qualified person to
fill said position. The person occupying the position of "Director
of Public Works" shall be charged with the supervision of all work
connected with the maintenance of streets, sanitary sewers, storm
sewers, refuse collection and disposal and such other related work
as may be required by the City Manager. The salary of the ',Director
of Public Works" shall be $375.00 per month, and shall be paid at
the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employees
of the City are paid, and shall be paid from funds appropriated for
salaries in the street department. Said position shall not be a
civil service position or covered by any provision of the civil service
ordinance of the City of Paducah or by the provisions of the civil
service statute of the State of Kentucky, and the person filling such
position shall not acquire any rights under the rules of civil service
governing employees in cities of the second class.
The position of "Chief Foreman of the Refuse Division" shall be
under the direction and supervision of the "Director of Public Works"
and the City Manager, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to
employ a suitable and qualified person to fill said position. The
person ocnupying the position of "Chief Foreman of the Refuse Division"
shall be charged with the supervision and carrying out of all work
connected with refuse collection and disposal and such other related
work that may be required by the City Manager. The salary of the
"Chief Foreman of the Refuse Division shall be $325.00 per month
and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the
salaries of other employees of the City are paid, and shall be paid
fron funds appropriated for salaries in the refuse division. Said
position shall not be a civil service position or covered by any
provision of the civil service ordinance of the City of Paducah
or by the provisions of the civil service statute of the State of
Kentucky, and the person filling such position shall not acquire
any rights under the rules of civil service governing employees in
cities of the second class.

SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on
and after the 1st day of May, 1955.
