HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 302, No Resolution Number02 J A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE OF THE CITY SCALES AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT SITUATED ON PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY ON SOUTH 2ND STREET BETWEEN KENTUCKY AVENUE AND WASHINGTON STREET; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WICH BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED FOR AND RECEIVED BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City I.ianager be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for the sale of the city scales and associated equipment owned by the City of Paducah and situated on land owned by the City on South 2nd Str between Kentucky Avenue and Washington Street; SECTION 2. Each bidder shall state the highest amount of money he is willing to pay for said scales and associated equipment. The full amount o_" the purchase price shall be paid in cash. The successful bidder shall be required to -remove the scales and equi pment from the property within 60 days after he is awarded a contract of sale and shall be -required to leave the land in a Smooth and level condition :Free from any rubbish or other matter caused by the removal of the scales. SECTIO14 3. The City ana;er shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting a request for bids in at least one issue os' the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on i:ihich this Resolution is adopted. iio bid shall be received unless under seal and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of the bid or bids received by the City i•ianager. All bids received by the City -Kanaser up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the highest and best bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and shall not become legally obligated to accept any bid until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing such acceptance. SECTION 4.
