CIVIL SERVICE OfRDINANCE11, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON APRIL 6, 1954 WHEREAS, under 3ection.9 of the "Appointive Employees? Civil Service Ordinance".referred to in.the above title, the positions of Weighmaster and Market Master were established, and WHEREAS, it is the judgment of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah that there is no longer a need for both positions and that economic necessity requires that they be abolished and the duties of both positions be performed by one person, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: .SECTION 1, That Section 9 of the "Appointive Employees? Civil .Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on April 6, 1954, be further amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 9. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions not assigned to any department of the City of Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Number 1 2 3 4 5 Position Salary Per Month City Clerk $296.00 Secretary to City Manager and Mayor 284.00 Clerk -typist 200.00 Social Worker Manager of City Wharf and City Market Maintenance 6 Chief of Maintenance Division 7 Maintenance Men (2 positions) ±nspections 8 Building & Electrical Inspector 9 Clerk -typist 120.00 240.00 300.00 240.00 390.00 220.00 Clerk -typists under this section shall be paid at the rate of $180.00 for the first six months, $190,00 per month for the next six months and $200.00 per month thereafter upon recommendation of the City Manager. 291 51 292 The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties formerly performed by the Building Inspector and the Electrical Inspector, and said Building & Electrical Inspector shall be under the direct supervision of the City Manager. The Manager of the City Wharf and City Market shall perform the duties formerly performed by the Wharfmaster and Market Master, and said Manager shall be under the direct supervision of the City Manager. The holders of the present positions of Wharfmaster and Market Master shall be permitted to take any competitive examination held for the position of Manager of the City Wharf and City Market."' SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extnet of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
