HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 29, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OF AN ATTORNEY TO PROSECUTE FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH ITS ACTION TO REMOVE THE CLOUD UPON THE TITLE OF LOTS NOS. 9, 10 AND 11 IN BLOCK 18 OF WEST END IMPROVEMENT COMPANY'S ADDITION PURCHASED BY THE CITY AT A COMMISSIONER'S SALE ON MAY 10TH, 1948; FIXING THE AMOUNT OF HIS COMPENSATION; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN COMPLICT THEREWITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH. KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to employ an attorney for a period of.four (4) months from March 1st, 1954, who shall be designated as Special Counsel, to represent the City of Paducah in the action now pending in the McCracken Circuit Court wherein the City of Paducah is plaintiff and Roy N.. Vance, Sr., et al.,.are defendants, in which action said city is seeking to remove the cloud upon and to be adjudged the owners of Lots Nos. 9, 10 and 11 in Block No. 18 of the West End Improvement Company's Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, which were purchased by said City at a Commissioner's sale on May 10, 1948. SECTION 2: The salary of the Attorney emplo'yed'pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance shall be $300.00 per month, and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employees of the City are paid. SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such comflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 4.
