CHURCH TO INSTALL A FUEL OIL TANK UNDER THE SURFACE OF THE, ALLEY ADJACENT
TO ITS CHURCH BUILDING EXTERDING WESTVIARDLY FROM 7TH STREET BET:>EEN

MIEREAS, Broadway I•iethodist Church in Paducah, Kentucky is remodeling
and renovating its church building and is changing its heating system
from the use of coal to the use of gas, and
19HEREAS, under the ruling of the Public Service Commission the church
is required to have automatic stand-by heating equipment requiring the use
of a 2000 gallon capacity oil storage tank, and
I'JHEREAS, the church building covers practically all of the land o�;ned
by the church, and the church does not have sufficient land for the
installation of said tank, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah and its citizens will benefit by reason
of the proposed change in fuel use due to the decrease in smoke output.
HOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky:
SECTION 1. That subject to other provisions of this ordinance, the
Broadway-:ethodist Church of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby authorized and
permitted to install a fuel oil tank of 2000 gallon capacity underneath
the surface of the alley adjacent to the church building, said alley
extending westwardly from 7th Street between Broadway and Jefferson Street.
SECTION 2. The church and its agents, employees and contractors shall
install such tank according to good engineering practices and shall cause
the alley to be replaced in the same condition as it was before the
installation.
SECTION 3. That the Broadway liethodist Church shall furnish the
City with a suitable bond for the protection of persons and property in
amount and form satisfactory to the City Engineer.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
