HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 260, No Resolution Number260 J A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EMPLOY A DELINQUENT AND OMITTED INSURANCE LICENSE COLLECTOR FM THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO MAKE COLLECTIONS OF ANY AND ALL INSURANCE LICENSE TAXES AND PENALTIES THEREON WHICH ARE PAST DUE AND UNPAID, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH COLLECTOR, AND FIXING THE AMOUNT OF HIS COMPENSATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C014CAIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and empowered to employ a delinquent and omitted insurance license collector for the City of Paducah, Kentucky and the person or persons so employed shall be empowered to make colleci tion of any and all delinquent and omitted insurance license taxes due the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and such person or persons employed shall collect all deli quent and omitted insurance license taxes due the City for the year 1955 and all prior years. Such person or persons so employed shall be authorized to collect said license taxes in the name of the City of Paducah and shall be empowered to ' institute legal action for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, whenever such shall be necessary to enforce collection. SECTION 2. The person or persons employed by and through this Resolution j shall be charged with the responsibility of collecting any and all delinquent j I and omitted insurance license taxes due the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and such collection shall be without any expense to the City.of Paducah, Kentucky. Said person or persons so employed shall receive as compensation a sum equal to fifty (50) percent of all insurance license tares, penalties and interest collected, and paid into the City Treasury on delinquent and omitted insurance license taxes. All amounts collected shall be paid to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the Treasurer of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall upon submission of fee statement, pay to the person or persons employed, the compensation due for services rendered in accordance with the provisions herein. SECTION 3. The person or persons employed, shall prior to commencing collection, execute a Surety Bond in favor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, in the amount of One Thousand (01000.00) Dollars and said Bond shall provide for the faithful accounting of all money that should come into the hands of said collector. SECTION 4. The City Manager shall have the right and power to terminate the employment of the collector upon sixty days written notice to said collector and if such employment is terminated, the collector shall receive commission on all collections made on which demand has been made prior to the termination of the Employment Contract. SECTION 5.
