HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 242, No Ordinance Number242 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10 AND 11 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRAFFIC ARID REGULATINS THE USE OF PUBLIC STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH; DEFINING AND ESTABLISHING PARKING METER ZONES AND REGULATING AND CONTROLLING AND PROVIDING FOR AN INSPECTION OF THE TIME PARKING OF VEHICLES THEREIN BY THE USE OF PARKING METERS; PRESCRIBING LIMITS OF TIME FOR PARKING IPI PARKING METER ZONES; AND PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PUNISH- MENT FOR ITS VIOLA^lION", hhIICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COPI-iISSIONERS ON JULY 9, 1946, AND AMENDED ON MARCH 30, 1948. i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KSI TUC KY: SECTION 1. That Section 10 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on July 9, 1946 and amended on March 30, 19148, be, and the same is hereby amended so that said Section as amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 10. It shall be the duty of the Chief of the Police Department!, by and through the employees of his department, and under the direction of the Cit Counsel to keep account of all violations of this ordinance. (a) He shall keep an account of and report the number of each parking j meter which indicates that the vehicle occupying the py ng parking space adjacent tai such parking meter is or has been parked in violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance, the date and hour of such violation, the make and the state license number of such vehicle, and any other facts and knowledge of v:nich is necessary to a thorough understanding of the circumstances attendir_g such violati (b) He shall attach to such vehicle a notice stating that it has been parked in violation of this ordinance and instructing the ovmer or operator to report to the City Judge in regard to such violation. The onner or operator may, within one (1) week after the time when such notice eras attached to such vehicle, pay the City Treasurer, upon the order of the City Judge, in full satisfaction of such violation, the sum of One ((81.00) Dollar." SECTION 2. That Section 11 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on July 9, 1946, be, and the same is hereby amended so that saixi Section as amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 11_ Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not less than 05.00 and not exceeding ;?100.00, or by imprisonment in the city jail of the City of Paducah for a period not exceeding 50 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The provisions of this paragraph are subject to the provisions of this ordinance." 243 SECTIOAI-2._ All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SzGTInI'T" This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
