HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 232, No Ordinance Number232 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTERSECTIONS OF JEFFERSON STREET WITH 3RD STREET, 5TH STREET, AND 17TH STREET TO BE 3 -WAY STOP INTER- SECTIONS AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. As used in this ordinance the term "intersection" shall mean the whole of that space at the intersection of one street with another which is bounded by the property lines as extended across said streets. SECTION 2_ The intersection of 3rd Street and Jefferson Street (Jefferson Street being a one-way street for west bound traffic) shall be a 3 -way stop, meaning that all traffic shall stop before entering said intersection. The intersection of 5th Street and Jefferson Street (Jefferson Street being a one-way street for west bound traffic) shall be a 3 -way stop, meaning that all traffic shall stop before entering said intersection. The intersection of 17th Street or Fountain Avenue and Jefferson Street shall be a 3 -way stop, meaning that all traffic shall stop before entering said intersection except west bound traffic on Jefferson Street. SECTION 3. Before entering any intersection listed in Section 2 of this ordinance, the operator of any vehicle shall bring such vehicle to a complete stop before entering or crossing said intersection. SECTION 4. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than ;5.00 nor more than $20.00 for each violation thereof. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after 12:01 o'clock A.M. on the 27th day of November, 1954.
