A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY OF ONE (1)
FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILE TO BE USED BY THE FIRE CHIEF; AND PRESCRIBING
THE SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the
City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) four door automobile with the
following specifications:
One 4 -door sedan, painted fire department red at the
factory, to be equipped as follows:
Safety tires, tinted glass, heater complete with defroster,
back-up lights, automatic transmission, one 6 -inch spot
light, power steering, power brakes, 8 -cylinder motor.
The above mentioned items are to be in addition to any
items which are considered as standard equipment on
respective cars.
Each bidder to state in his bid what is considered standard
equipment and what is considered additional equipment.
Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase price of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the
amount of the purchase price for said new automobile by accepting as
trade-in one (1) 1950 Oldsmobile 4 -door sedan now being used by the
Fire Chief.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request
for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall
be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of
bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which
this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be'received unless under
seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the
notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager
up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best
responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become
legally obligated to purchase said automobile until the adoption of
an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECT_ This Resolution shall begin full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
