HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 223, No Ordinance Number223 --- AN / AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTERSECTIONS OF 8TH STREET AND MADISON STREET, 13TH STREET AND MADISON STREET, 5TH STREET AND JEFFERSON STREET AND 3RD STREET AND JEFFERSON STREET TO BE 4 -WAY STOPS FOR ALL TRAFFIC, AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMNIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; SECTION 1_ As used in this ordinance the term "intersection'? shall mean the whole of that space at the intersection of one street with another which is bounded by the property lines as would be ex- tended across said streets. SECTION 2. The intersection of 8th Street and Madison Street, the intersection of 13th Street and Madison Street, the intersection of 5th Street and Jefferson Street and the intersection of 3rd Street and Jefferson Street are each hereby declared to be a 4 -way stop for all traffic at such intersection, meaning that all traffic shall stop before entering any of said intersections. SECTION 3. Any driver who violates the provisions of this ordinance by failing to stop at the intersections described in Section 2, shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than $5.00 nor more than $20.00 for each violation thereof. SECTION L_t. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 5.
