That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952, and amended on January 26, 1954, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. The number and rani: of members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are IA— not changed by any annual apportionment, ordinance adopted hereafter, shall be as follows: POSITIOIT 1MIM ,R OF POSITIOI:S 1.101'THLY SALARY Chief of Police 1 ;400.00 Assistant Chief of Police 1 325.00 Chief Detective 1 310.00 Director of Traffic 1 310.00 Police Captain 4 300.00 Detective Lieutenant 1 285.00 Police Lieutenant 5 285.00 Sergeant 5 272.00 Sergeant Detective 2 272.00 Policemen 40 265.00 Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed, during ,ic first year of service shall receive a salary of :;;:245.00 per month and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by the City .--ana er on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to ;;255.00 for the second year of service, and upon completion of a second year of satisfactory service as determined by the City- i•ianager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to the sur:? of ,265.00". 3ECTICi, 2. The Chief of Police, under the supervision of the City i•ianager small designate a Sergeant or other police officer to supervise and control tine city jail, who shall perform the duties heretofore performed by the officer heretofore designated as "Sergeant Jailer". 19 SECTIO'; 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the eRtent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTIO'; 4.
