HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 163, No Ordinance Number1663 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF GEORGIA STREET BETWEEN 28TH STREET AND 29TH STREET IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE A SUIT IN THE McCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID PORTION OF SAID STREET LEGALLY CLOSED BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorize the closing of all of the following described portion of Georgia street in Paducah, Kentucky between 28th Street and 29th Street: "Beginning at the southwest corner of the intersection of 28th street and Georgia street; thence eastwardly continuing in a straight line with the south line of 28th street 7.35 feet; thence southwardly parallel with the east line of Georgia street and 50 feet west of same 397.01 feet; thence at right angles westwardly 2 feet to the present west line of Georgia street; thence northvrardly with the present west line of Georgia street 397 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning." SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky is hereby authorized and empowered to institute a suit in the McCracken Circuit•Court, pursuant to the provisions of KRS 94.360, to obtain a decree ordering the closing of said portion of said street. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
