HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 152, No Resolution Number152 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE DUMP TRUCK FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPART- MENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new dump truck for use in the Street Department, de- scribed as follows: Heavy duty, maximum G.V.W. 16,000 pounds, heavy duty cooling system, closed type crankcase ventilation, two - speed rear axle, four -speed transmission, dual rear sheels, tires maximum $/25/20 - 10 ply first line with spares mounted, color either green or black, 3 yard dump bed with heavy duty hoist. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price for said truck and also the amount he will allow on the purchase price as a trade-in on a D-30 1938 International dump truck. Each bidder is to state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said truck until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
