HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 133, No Ordinance Number133 J -- API ORDINANCE DETERIā€¢iIPIIiIG THE P.EED FOR TIC CLOSLIG OP 20th STREET IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY FROId THE NORTH LII.IE OF PARK AVM'UF TO THE SOUTH LINE OF "ILDRED STREET, PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF SAi: AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO IIISTITUTE III T113 L,cGRACKEII CIRCUIT COURT ANY NECESSARY SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID STREET LEGALLY CLOSED iIHEREkS, 20th Street in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, ax - tending from the north line of Park Avenue to the south line of ;Cildred Street, has never been opened or used as a street, and WHEREAS, the property abutting said street on both sides is ovmed by the City of Paducah, and 11HEP.EAS, by the closing of said street extra land vn_11 be acquired by the City for cemetery purposes, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI=:ISSIOIvE4R3 OF TIC CITY OF PADUCAH, KEUTUCKY: SECTIO_ 1. That the City of Paducah does hereby declare it a need and necessity to close 20th Street from the 'Borth line of Par': Avenue to the South line of b:ildred Street for the purpose of acquiring land to be used in connection with Oak Grove Cemetery ov;ned by the City. SECTIOIi 2. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky does hereby authorize the closing of said street and does hereby declare the same closed. SECTIOII 3. The Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky is hereby authorized and empowered to institute any necessary legal action orderinā€ž the closing of said street. SECTIOU 4.
