AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE OPENING OF THE SIDEUALK 01I FOUSTH STREET SOUTH OF BROADWAY TO PER1MIT THE INSTALLATION OF A .FUEL OIL TANK TO SERVE THE TAYLOR BUILDING, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE USE OF SPACE, BENEATH SAID SIDEWALK FOR HOUSING OF SAID TANK i1HEREAS for many years last past the property of Taylor Real Estate Company, Incorporated located on the southwest corner of the: intersection of Fourth Street and Broadway, known as the Taylor Building, has been served by a coal storage room beneath the sidewalk adjacent to said building, and WHEREAS in the renovation of said building as a result:of a recent fire the owners contemplate the installation of a new oil heating system, including an oil storage tank, having a capacity of 1500 gallons, and WHEREAS the City of Paducah and its citizens will benefit by reason of such installation, due to the decrease in smoke output, and WHEREAS such installation will necessitate the opening of the sidewalk on Fourth Street over the former coal storage room for the placement of said oil storage tank, and WHEREAS said coal storage room appears to be the logical and only correct location for said oil storage tank. 1;OV! THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI2;ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the use of the said space beneath said sidewalk (formerly used as a coal storage room) for location and installation of said oil storage tank be, and it is hereby, approved, and the Taylor Real Estate Company, Incorporated and any future owner of said Taylor Building are authorized to use said space in the maintenance, servicing, and repairing of said tank as an adjunct of the heating system of said building. SECTIOI: 2. That as an incident to the original installation of said oil storage tank the said Taylor Real Estate Company, Incorporated, be, and it is hereby, authorized to make such an opening in the sidewalk over said location as may be necessary in good engineering practice, con- ditioned upon the posting of a suitable bond in amount and form satisfactory to the City Engineer and Corporation Counsel. SECTIO11 3. This ori dinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
