That the City N•Nanager advertise for bids for the resurfacing of the following streets in the City of Paducah, Kentucky: lst Street from Washington to Jefferson 3 bloc'cs 2nd Street from Clark to Jefferson 4 i7 South 3rd Street from "ashington to Kentucky Avenue 1 " South 4th Street from Broadway to Norton 9 :r North 4th Street from Broadway to N•Nadison 3 ' South 5th Street from Kentucky'venue to Clark 2 " North 5th Street from Jefferson to N•iad:ison 2 " ,North 6th Street from Jefferson to I•Nadison 2 North 7th Street from Jefferson to I.:adison 2 't INorth 9th Street from Jefferson_ to Niadi son 2 ' Horth 16th Street from Jefferson to Broadway 1 Washington Street from 1st to 6th Streets 6 " Itentucky Avenue from lst to 6th Streets 6 " Broadway from 17th to 25th Streets 8 " Murrell Blvd. from 'roadway to Jones 8 " L Monroe from 2nd to 7th and from 9th to 12th Streets `d " Total 67 't Said surfacing to be from gutter to gutter with full widths to street property lines at all intersections between said points and said work to be done under the following terms, conditions and specifications: The surfacing of the present pavement shall be leveled where necessary and surfaced with 11" application of Kentucky State Highway Class "I", Type "B" bituminous concrete surfacing, Class "I" bituminous leveling course, said work to include bituminous prime coat and the raising and resetting to grade of man- holes, catch basins and monuments located in the areas to be resurfaced. Persons desiring to submit bids will do so on the basis of the entire numbe of blocks set out above and shall submit alternate bids per block, which will enable the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah to let a contract for t resurfacing of any number of said designated blocks less than the whole amount. Each bidder shall state in his bid the amount to be allowed to the City as a credit against the bid price for causing the manholes, catch basins or monuments to be raised and reset to grade at no expense to the bidder. Each bid shall stat the time necessary to complete the work from the date of letting the contract 125 therefor. All work will be performed under the direction of the City of Paducah Engineering Department. Saod work shall be paid for upon certificate of completior thereof and when approved and accepted by the City Engineer. The successful bidder will also execute a performance bond in the amount of estimated cost of the work as shown on bid to insure the proper performance and completion of said wort: and in addition will be required to keep in full force and effect liability insurance to protect the City of Paducah from any claims to persons or property of persons in the following amounts: %:10,000 for personal injury or death to any one person [,;20,000 for personal injury or death to more than one person resulting from the same accident, and 5,000 for damage to property in any one accident. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for the aforesaid bids by a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date of the adoption of this resolution. No bid shall be receiv unless it is under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated under a contract for the aforesaid wort: until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the contract. SECTION 3.
