THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S REQUIREI.M T OF LIMESTONE FOR THE YEAR 1954 (APPROXII.rATELY 5000 TO $000 TONS) TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C0131ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the city's requirement of limestone for the year 1954 (approximately 5000 to 8000 tons). Bid price to be f.o.b. to any destination in the city limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky as specified by the Superintendent of Streets. The limestone is to be delivered as ordered in 100 ton lots or more and the successful bidder is to guarantee to start delivery within twenty-four hours after notification and continue until the required amount has been delivered. The limestone must meet the specifications known and listed as Kentucky State Highway specifications for No. 9 and No. 11 limestone. The successful bidder may be required to furnish representative samples of any and all items and all weights of delivered material must be certified at the city scales on South Second Street in Paducah, I:entucky between Kentucky Avenue and Washington Street at the expense of the successful bidder. All bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in market price and shall guarantee a reduction in price in the event of a decrease in market price. The successful bidder shall post a per- formance bond in the sum of .;1,500.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. Notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City litanager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Conuaissioners who may let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. SECTIOK 3.
