HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 980, No Resolution Number980 / A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE THREE UUBIC YARD CAPACITY MOTOR PICKUP STREET SWEEPER CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING AND DROPPING ITS OWN HOPPER CONTAINING SWEEPINGS; MINIMUM 300 CUBIC INCH ENGINE DISPLACEMENT FULLY EQUIPPED WITH BROOMS, SPRAY SYSTEM OF AT LEAST 170 GALLON CAPACITY, ADEQUATE LIGHTING SYSTEM, AND TURNING DIAMETER OF NOT OVER 2$ FEET: AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for the purchase of one three cubic yard capacity motor pickup street sweeper capable of transporting and dropping its own hopper containing sweepings; minimum 300 cubic inch engine displacement fully equipped with brooms, spray system of at least 170 gallon capacity, adequate lighting system, and turning diameter of not over 28 feet. Each bidder shall submit his lowest and best bid for the aforesaid equipment, said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. Bidders will also give earliest reliable delivery date a d length of guarantee on said equipment; and shall provide list of users, indicate nearness of service facilities and parts supply. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and publish at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3.
