HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 972, No Resolution Number972 A RESOLUTIOI ;]OUESTING THE CITY I,1ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE 7,500 POUND CAPACITY HOIST OF TYPE LFWTIODEL 253, OR EQUIVALENT, TO HANDLE ALL TYPES OF CONTAINERS OF 1}- TO 12 CUBIC YARD CAPACITY, SUCH AS I.<ANUFACTURES BY DEI-iPSTER BROTHERS, INCORPORATED; FULLY MOUNTED Oil FULLY -EQUIPPED CHASSIS OF 18,000 POUND GV<1I'TITH DUAL REAR TIBBS, HELPER SPRINGS AND FISH PLATED, I'MEL BASE TO PROVIDE AT LEAST 11047 FROM BACK OF CAB TO ITZIEDIATELY BACK OF REAR Sl HANGER BRACKER, AND PRESCRIBING THE TEMS AND CONDITIONS UPON I'lHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE I-IADE. BE I^1 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CC131ISSIONER3 OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, I21ITUCKY Y SECTION 1. That the City I -;anagen be, and he is hereby authorized, to advertise for the purchase of one 7,500 pound capacity hoist of type LFII] Model 253, or dquivalent, to handle all types of containers of lip to 12 cubic yard capacity, such as manufactured by Dempster Brothers, Incprporated; fully mounted on fully -equipped chassis of 18,000 pound Gjr.7 with dual rear tires, helper springs and fish plated, wheel base to provide at least 11071 from back of cab to immediate: back of rear spring hanger bracker. Each bidder shall submit his lowest and best bid for the aforesaid equi- pment, said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. Bidders will also give earliest reliable delivery date and length of guarantee on said equipment; and shall provid list of users, indicate nearness of service facilities and parts supply. SECTIOII 2 The City i,ianager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun-Denocrat. The notice shall be posted and published it least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) clays from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. ,11 bids received by the City I•:anager up to the time fixed in the notice for the o pening of bids shq_11 be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
