INCH LIFT ABOVE GROUND, tIldI> URi 4.1 INCII OPENING OF SHOVEL JAW; SHOVEL TO BE MOUNTED ON FULLY EQUIPPED CRAUTLER TRACTOR OF ADEQUATE SIZE, tiVEIGHT AND POUTER, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE � BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C0144ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to advertise for the purchase of one bull -clam type powered shovel of two cubic yard lifting volume on tracks, 6,000 pound lifting capacity, minimum 34 inch lift above ground, minimum 14 inch drop below ground, blade tilt, minimum 4.1 inch opening of shovel jaw; shovel to be mounted on fully equipped, crawler tractor of adequate size, weight and power; to be used for digging and pushing work in a sanitary land -fill operation. Each bidder shall submit his lowest and best bid for the aforesaid equipment, said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. Bidders will also give earliest reliable delivery date and length of guarantee on said equipment; and shall provide list of users, indicate nearness of service facilities and parts supply. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall he received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City 14anager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
