HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 966, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FROM ONE TO EIGHT ALL -ENCLOSED PACKER TYPE REFUSE COLLECTION BODIES OF CAPACITIES RANGING FROM g TO 16CUBIC YARDS, FULLY MOUNTED ON SUITABLE SIZE POUER DRIVER! CHASSIS EQUIPPED FOR SERVICE OPERATION, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERI;IS AND CONDITIONS UPON I':HICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI-11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to advertise for the purchase of from one to eight all -enclosed packer type refuse collection bodies of capacities ranging from 9 -to 16 cu. yds. fully mounted on suitable size power driven cahssis equipped for service operation. Each bidder shall submit his lowest and best bid for the aforesaid equipment and chassis and will specify in said bid the type and description of the chassis to be used and showing all standard equipment to be used in conjunction with said chassis; said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. Bidders will also give earliest reliable delivery date and length of guarantee on said equipment; and shall provide list of users in Kentucky and vicinity; indicate nearness of service facilities and parts supply; provide description of safety features of body in operation; indicate effective hopper capacity, features tending to speed the work of refuse collection such as height from ground of loading lip, elapse times of packing and loading cycles, largest size parcel hopper will accommodate. SECTION 2. The City Tanager shall advertise .for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (11 issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and publishe at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible; bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3.
